Transport, power sector receive highest ADP allocation for FY23

The government on Tuesday approved a Tk 2,46,066 crore Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the upcoming fiscal year 2022-23, with highest allocations to transport and energy sectors.

“The transport sector will get Tk 70,696 crore while power and energy Tk 39,412 crore,” Planning Minister MA Mannan made the disclosure while briefing reporters after attending the National Economic Council meeting with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

The minister said Rooppur Nuclear Power plant get highest allocation worth Tk 13,396 crore.

Of the total allocation, Tk 1,53,066 crore, or 62.21 per cent, will be provided from the national treasury while Tk 93,000 crore, or 37.79 per cent, will come from project assistance, he said.

He also said 62 ministries and divisions, including transport, power, energy, education, health and rural development, requested more allocation for the next fiscal, resulting in a larger budget for the next ADP.
