The High Court (HC) on Tuesday dismissed a writ petition seeking postponement of the 41st Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examination scheduled to be held on March 19.
The court also ordered the authorities concerned to conduct the examination by following health guidelines.
HC bench of Justice Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Md Mahmud Hassan Talukder passed the order after hearing a writ petition in this regard.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) informed the High Court that it will not be possible to postpone the 41st BCS preliminary examination as all preparations have already been completed to hold it on March 19.
Deputy Attorney General Bipul Bagmar represented the state while Advocate Robiul Islam stood for the writ petitioner in the court.
Earlier on January 13, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) BPSC announced that the 41st BCS preliminary exam will be held on March 19.
As many as 475,000 job seekers have applied to sit for the 41st BCS exams against 2,166 cadre posts. The preliminary exams are scheduled to be held in eight divisional cities.
