Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said that action will be taken if there is an attempt to leak questions during the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations.

The minister made the statement after visiting the examination center of Begum Badrunnessa Government Girls' College in Dhaka on Sunday.

“There was an attempt to leak questions in Bhuruingamari of Kurigram during the SSC examination. We have taken action after analysing what happened in that test. If someone tries to leak the question somewhere, we will all prevent it. Action will be taken against them,” said the minister.

Regarding the closure of coaching centres, Dipu Moni said, “Instructions were given to close the coaching centres. It is not possible for the Ministry of Education or the Board of Education to stop it alone, the cooperation of the local administration is also required.”

“Coaching is required. Since there are so many pupils in the class, it is impossible for the teacher to provide each one of them individual attention. But I'm hoping that the new curriculum won't call for coaching,” she added.

The HSC and equivalent exams for the academic session 2021-22 began Sunday across the country.
