Pro Vice-Chancellor of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST Professor Dr Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman has won the Sixth Baku International Architecture Award for his book, ‘City of an Architect’.
The book describes the traditional architecture of Dhaka, during the Mughal and Colonial periods from a layman’s perspective and uses sketches of 163 buildings done by architecture students of North South University and University Technology Malaysia, read a press release on Sunday.
The 371-page book was published by Delvista Foundation in 2011. Part of the contents was serialised by the Daily Star Campus in 2006.
Azarbaijan Union of Architects gives this award under the auspices of UIA (International Union of Architects) every 4 years.
