BAC organises Quality Assurance and Accreditation seminar

Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) has organised a seminar on Quality Assurance and Accreditation to seek the advice and cooperation of higher education institutions and all the beneficiaries related to higher education to carry forward the activities of the council successfully.

Member of the council Professor Dr S M Kabir presented keynote paper in the seminar, according to a press release.

After his presentation, there was an open discussion session which was conducted by the Chairman of the council Professor Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed.

The panellists emphasised the importance of making accreditation programs mandatory in higher education. They also believe that it is not possible to improve the quality of education without allocating a budget for higher education.

In the year 2018, BAC was established to ensure the quality of higher education in the country and provide accreditation.

The Government of Bangladesh has already formulated the 'Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF)'.

The Council is working on the implementation of this framework. One of the major challenges of the council is aligning higher education with the needs of society and ensuring quality education by implementing the framework in all higher educational institutions of the country.
