Bangladeshi students who are no longer in the position to pursue higher education in Ukraine have the opportunity to complete their studies in Russian universities.

The Russian embassy in Bangladesh made the announcement in a press release on its Facebook page on Monday.

It said Bangladeshi students willing to avail the transfer scheme have to provide some information to the embassy, including the desired Russian university and the area of studies.

Besides, a copy of the document confirming admission to the Ukrainian university and the student’s ID as well as the record book confirming the progress so far have to be submitted.

Moreover, the embassy said it would provide additional information about the transfer process through the hotline +7 (495) 122-22-68 from Monday to Saturday between 8:00am and 8:00pm (Moscow time).

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 this year, which triggered Europe's largest refugee crisis since World War II.

The United Nations on Saturday said the civilian casualty statistics it publishes daily do not capture the full impact of the war in Ukraine.

Also, military experts said the number of Ukrainian civilians killed by Russian forces likely would never be known until years after the conflict ended.
