Authorities of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) has suspended all academic activities in physical presence till February 6, complying with the government directive amid the alarming Covid-19 situation.
"The decision was taken at an emergency virtual meeting of the academic council of BRUR arranged on Saturday evening with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Hasibur Rashid in the chair," said a press release on Sunday.
Pro Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Sarifa Salwa Dina, Deans of all
six faculties and heads of all 22 departments, and members of the academic council participated in the meeting virtually.
Classes, examinations and the admission process at BRUR will continue using online facilities.
Offices of the university will remain open on a limited scale from 10:00am to 2:00pm, following the health directives of the government.
The residential halls will also remain open, ensuring abidance of the
health directives.
Students of the university have been suggested to sincerely follow the
health directives and pay special attention to protect their health.
Besides, the meeting decided to conduct all activities for the admission
process in the first year of degree (honors) courses for the 2020-2021
academic sessions (4th to 7th lists) online.
"Detailed information regarding admission would be available on the
university website (http://admission.brur.ac.bd/notice)," the release added.
