Closure of schools, colleges extended till June 30

The government has extended the ongoing closure of all secondary and higher secondary educational institutions till June 30 due to the worsening Covid-19 situation in some parts of the country.

The Ministry of Education announced the government's decision in a press release on Saturday.

The ministry ‎earlier had said that schools and colleges would be allowed to reopen from June 13, if the Covid-19 situation improves in the country.

‎All educational institutions have been closed since March 17 last year due to the emergence of coronavirus in Bangladesh.

Since then, the closure had to be extended several times as Covid-19 situation in the country failed to improve.
