Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday recommended the upcoming civil service (BCS) and other public examinations be canceled due to a sudden rise in coronavirus infections and fatalities.
The recommendation, along with 11 others were made at an emergency meeting of DGHS and sent to the health ministry and cabinet secretary.
On March 17, Bangladesh recorded 11 Covid deaths and 1,865 fresh cases overnight, which was the highest in three months.
The recovery count rose to 5,15,989 after another 1,510 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period, a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said Wednesday.
