Dr Mohammad Shahin Khan has been made new provost of Kabi Jasimuddin Hall of the University of Dhaka. He is a professor of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research (ISWR) of the University.
On Wednesday, the Vice-Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman made the appointment as per section 18 (1) of the 1st Statutes included in the University order, 1973.
Dr Shahin Khan joined as a lecturer at the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, University of Dhaka in July 2004.
Prof Khan pursued his advanced Masters degree in Globalisation and Development from the Institute of Development Policy and Management, University of Antwerp under Belgian government scholarship in 2010.
He was awarded a PhD degree in 2013. His areas of concentration are research methodology, globalization, disaster management, social administration, crime and the like.
Shahin Khan has been serving as a Trustee at Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology Trust since October 2011. Dr Khan is involved with many voluntary and social organisations.
