DU student sent to jail for food directorate intake test forgery

A mobile court on Monday sentenced a Dhaka University (DU) student to one-month jail as he was involved with committing forgery in the intake test of the Directorate General of Food.

The accused student was identified as Himel Hamid Shikdar, who remained traceless since Friday.

Executive Magistrate Md Ataur Rabbi of Tangail Deputy Commissioners office confirmed the matter and said Himel remained in Tangail jail after a mobile court sentenced him to one-month imprisonment on Friday.

Himel was held while giving proxy examination in Textile Institute, Tangail for the post of assistant inspector in the Directorate General of Food, he said.

The arrest was made as Himel’s face did not match with picture of real aspirant Rezwanul Haque’s the admit card, he added.
