The Dhaka University authorities have decided to open its dormitories in the first week of October if the Covid situation remains improving and students get vaccinated by the time.
However, only fourth year and masters students will be allowed to stay in the halls initially and the rest first, second and third year students will be brought back in the dorms in the mid of November.
The decision came from the meeting of university's deans committee held Wednesday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, with DU Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair, said a press release.
Students have been asked to submit their information to university's Information and Communication Technology Cell after receiving two doses of vaccine by September 15.
However, the procedure of reopening halls might be interrupted, if all the students of the university don't get vaccinated by this time, added the release.
