Educational institutions will be allowed to open if coronavirus infection rate in the country falls below 5 per cent, said Mahbub Hossain, secretary of secondary and higher education division.
Any decision on opening universities, colleges and schools in phases will be taken later, he said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh on Tuesday reported 235 new Covid related deaths and 15,776 cases.
The first infection of coronavirus was detected in the country on March 8 last year. Ten days later, on March 18, the health department reported its first death in the country.
Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.
