The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations 2020 will be published tomorrow (Saturday).
Md Mahbub Hossain, Secondary and Higher Education Secretary of the Ministry of Education, confirmed the information to the media on Friday.
He said the results will be published at 10.30am tomorrow at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the programme through videoconferencing from her official residence at Ganobhaban, the secretary added.
Earlier, the National Parliament on January 24 passed three bills clearing the way for publishing results of the last year’s HSC and equivalent examinations.
Gazette of three amended bills was published on Monday night, paving the way to publish the results without holding any examinations.
The bills are-- 'Intermediate and Secondary Education (Amendment) Bill, 2021', 'Bangladesh Technical Education Board (Amendment) Bill, 2021' and 'Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board (Amendment) Bill, 2021'.
Since it was not possible to hold last year’s HSC and equivalent examinations amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the amendment bills were placed in the Parliament.
The results will be published after coordinating 75 per cent of the SSC and 25 per cent from the JSC-JDC results, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni recently.
The HSC batch of 2020 will be the first batch of students who will get certificates without sitting for the examinations as it is the first time in the history of the country that a public examination has been cancelled.
