HSC exams: Education board chairmen to meet Thursday

Chairmen of 11 education boards will hold a meeting on September 24 at 2 pm to discuss ways to intake HSC and equivalent examinations.

They will also prepare a proposal in this regard and submit it to the ministry.

The meeting will be presided over by Ziaul Haque, chairman of Dhaka Education Board.

Md Abdus Salam, chairman of the Cumilla Education board confirmed the news to The Business Post.

He also said that the new routine for HSC and equivalent exams will also be finalised in the meeting. The routine will be disclosed 15 days before the exam.

The examinations were scheduled to be held from April 1 over 9,000 educational institutions under 11 education boards.

However, the HSC and equivalent examinations were postponed on March 22 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Earlier, the government decided not to hold this year's Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations due to coronavirus pandemic.

Besides, there will be no Primary Education Completion (PEC) and its equivalent Ebtedayee examination for 2020 and the students will be promoted to the next class through class assessment instead.
