The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations of 2023 under the country’s nine education boards will begin on August 17. The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board published the schedule on Thursday.

Theoretical exams will continue till September 25, while the practical exams will be held from September 26 to October 4.

The HSC exams will begin with the Bangla first paper. The exams will be held for three hours from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. As per the instruction, the examinees must take their seats at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the examination.

First multiple choice and then creative or compositional (theory) tests will be conducted. There will be no break between the two parts of the examination.

It is also mentioned in the routine that the candidates can use the general scientific calculator in the exam. Programmable calculators will not be allowed at the exam centre. No candidate will be allowed to bring a mobile phone to the centre.

But the in-charge officer of the examination centre can use a mobile phone.

Ministry sources said the HSC and equivalent exams of two other boards – Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board and Bangladesh Technical Education Board—will also start on August 17, but the boards are yet to publish the exam routine.
