‘Seeds for the Future’, a flagship CSR program for nurturing ICT talent by Huawei, has been launched recently for aspiring STEM and non-STEM students.

The registration opened in April 2022 and interested students can now register for taking part in it without cost by contacting their university departments, a press release said Wednesday.

To initiate ‘Seeds for the Future 2022, Bangladesh’, roadshows were being arranged at the participatory universities throughout April. Recently two roadshows have been organised at the University of Dhaka (DU), and Islamic University of Technology (IUT) respectively.

At the events, University of Dhaka Department of EEE Professor and Chairman Dr Anis Ahmed, IUT Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, and Huawei Bangladesh Board Member Jason Lizongshengm were present among other faculty members of DU, IUT and officials of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited.

Emphasising the learning opportunities provided by the ‘Seeds for the Future’ program to the students of the University of Dhaka during the roadshow, Dr Anis Ahmed commented, “This program is enormously contributing to producing a skilled workforce that is helping to modernize the country’s telecom sector.”

At the event held at IUT, Prof Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Islam said, “IUT took part in this program for the third time last year, and I saw my students enthusiastically involved with this competition that focused on developing youth talent by enriching their knowledge, innovative minds, and leadership skills.”

“Huawei believes in empowering and facilitating the youth. That’s why we have different programs meant to help the youth gather knowledge and develop ICT-related skills,” said Jason Lizongsheng.
