The International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) has announced that it will provide 50 meritorious Palestinian students with full scholarships, allowing them to study at the university tuition-free.
The decision was made at the request of the Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yousef SY Ramadan, during a courtesy meeting with IIUC Board of Trustees' Chairman Professor Dr Abu Reza Md Nezamuddin Nadwi, a former member of parliament from Chattogram-15 constituency.
On April 24, IIUC's International Affairs Committee recommended providing scholarships to 50 Palestinian meritorious students to study at the university tuition-free. The decision was later ratified at the 11th meeting of the IIUC Board of Trustees, held on May 3, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr Abu Reza Md Nezamuddin Nadwi.
IIUC PR Md Rasel Mosharrof told The Business Post that universities in various Muslim countries around the world are offering free tuition to persecuted Palestinian students. In line with this initiative, the International Islamic University Chittagong in Bangladesh has taken this positive step. All the students will be offered tuition-free education along with housing facilities.
