A three-day training course on “Disaster Risk Reduction for Home Based Workers” concluded in Dhaka on Saturday.

It was organised by the OSHE Foundation with support from Home Net South Asia. Total of 30 Home Based Workers across the country participated in the event, reads a press release.

The course was designed to facilitate resilience of the home-based workers to cope with disaster and climate risks at the workplace. The participants analysed the risk scenario and developed a workplace-based risk reduction action plan.

The participants were imparted knowledge on early warning messages, earthquake preparedness, minimizing risks to thunderstorm and heat waves, emergency response and overall disaster risk governance in Bangladesh.

Joint Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and Director of the Department of Disaster Management Nahid Sultana Mallik distributed certificates as chief guest in the closing session.

OSHE foundation Chairperson Saki Rezwana and Disaster Risk Analyst SM Morshed addressed the closing event among others.
