Education Minister Dipu Moni on Saturday said the schedule of Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate examinations will not come under any change.

“The examinations will be held on time. The SSC exams will be held in early November while the HSC exams in mid-December,” she told the media after a programme at Shilpakala Academy in the capital.

The minister said since the reopening of educational institutions on September 12, they are monitoring the overall situation.

“There is news of coronavirus infection in some primary schools. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education is dealing with the issue and taking necessary steps.”

Dipu Moni said the government is yet to make any decision about holding in-person classes for pre-primary students.

“For now, they will study staying at home. The decision will be taken after three weeks monitoring the situation,” she added.

Bangladesh recorded 31 new coronavirus-related deaths and 1,233 infections in a 24-hour period till 8:00am on Friday.

The latest cases were detected after testing 27,141 samples, showing a decline in the daily test positivity rate to 4.54 per cent from Thursday’s 4.61 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services.
