A new schedule has been published for the HSC and equivalent examinations, which got postponed due to deteriorating law and order situation across the country amid quota reform movement.
According to the new schedule published Thursday, the postponed exams will start from September 11. Secondary and Higher Secondary Education boards of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Jashore, Cumilla, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur and Mymensingh will follow this routine.
Last Tuesday, Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chairman of Dhaka education board and chief of Inter Education Board Coordination Committee, had told the media that a proposal has been sent to the Ministry of Education to resume the postponed examinations from September 11.
As the law and order situation worsened amid the quota reform movement, all educational institutions across the country were closed indefinitely on the night of July 16. Later, the HSC and equivalent exams on July 18 were also postponed.
As the situation deteriorated further, the Inter Education Board Coordination Committee suspended all higher secondary examinations till August 1.
Later, the HSC and equivalent examinations were scheduled to begin as per the previously announced schedule from August 4 subject to normal law and order situation. But those exams got postponed as well.
