The US Embassy in Dhaka, with the cooperation of its EducationUSA platform, hosted a US University Fair at the EMK Center in the Ghulshan, Dhaka on Friday.

The education fair started at 3pm and ended at 6pm with the participation of more than 500 admission seekers of US universities, said a press release.

Five US university representatives from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the University of Northern Iowa, the New York Institute of Technology, the University of Texas Arlington, and The Chicago School participated in the fair.

All five US college recruiters returned to Bangladesh due to the notable rising interest in the number of Bangladeshi students pursuing higher education in the United States.

Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Nathan Flook welcomed the students and university representatives to the fair.

The organisers said, it was a unique opportunity for Bangladeshi students to speak with US university representatives about admission requirements and scholarship opportunities.

Students also received tips on submitting a dynamic and comprehensive application.  Additionally, the programme featured information sessions led by US Embassy officials and EducationUSA advisors on the F-1 student visa process.

EducationUSA, with a global network of more than 430 advising centres, is the only official US government source for accurate, current, and comprehensive information about studying in the United States.

In Bangladesh, EducationUSA facilitates free access to information about study opportunities in the United States through advising centres in different parts of the country. Trained advisers from the American Spaces listed below hold both virtual and in-person information sessions and provide one-on-one and group advising services for students and parents free of charge.
