Two Bangladeshi artists Fahmida Yeasmin Ripa and Mehjabin Hasan Mourin have recently hit the internet by storm. They painted popular K-pop band BTS members Jungkook and Taehyung, for an art exhibition titled ‘Way to Artistry Dream’ at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).

Allkpop, a popular American website which features Korean pop and gossip news, shared an article on their website on Sunday, showcasing the paintings featured at BSA.

Fahmida Yeasmin Ripa drew two beautiful paintings of Jungkook, while Mehjabin Hasan Mourin painted a cryptic piece of Taehyung. One of the Jungkook portraits is titled ‘My You,’ and highlights his soft and delicate side with a leaf over his head while the other one, ‘1997’, depicts him as a royal connoisseur from the renaissance period.

Taehyung's portrait, which is titled ‘We are all living under the masks’, is a cryptic painting that avoids highlighting his face. Taehyung is seen holding a white mask, as the background showcases a clock face with numerous other white masks embodying countless emotions.

K-pop sensation BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010 and debuting in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. The septet—consisting of members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—co-writes and co-produces much of their own material.

Originally a hip-hop group, their musical style has evolved to incorporate a wide range of genres; their lyrics have often discussed mental health, the troubles of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the journey towards self-love, and individualism.

Their work also frequently references literature, philosophy and psychological concepts, and includes an alternate universe storyline.
