On the occasion of his 56th birthday on Saturday, Akshay Kumar delighted both himself and his fans with a special treat - the hilarious Welcome 3 promo.
Officially titled "Welcome to the Jungle," the film boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lara Dutta, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Johny Lever, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, Rahul Dev, and the singing duo Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh.
Taking to Instagram to share the promo, Akshay wrote, “Khud ko aur aap sab ko ek birthday gift diya hai aaj (I have given a gift to you and myself on my birthday today). If you like it and say thanks, I’d say Welcome(3) #WelcomeToTheJungle.”
The promo kicks off with the entire star-studded cast donning military uniforms, standing in formation, and armed to the teeth. They all attempt to sing the iconic Welcome tune, with Disha Patani adding her own flair and vocal prowess. However, Daler Mehndi and Mika throw in a comedic twist by belting out "Tunak Tunak Tun" until Arshad Warsi playfully instructs them to cease.
Sanjay Dutt quips, “Paaji khud ka gana theek se gaate nahi ho ek dusre ka gana kyu kharab karte ho (you can't sing your own songs properly, why do you spoil each other's songs)?” Suniel Shetty chimes in, “Kaun leke aaya yaar inhe (who brought them here)?” and inquires about the person who mimics an instrument's sound, to which a young girl aptly responds, "It's called acapella." Finally, as they attempt to resume singing, Disha playfully tries to add her own musical touch, prompting Akshay to humorously ask if it's a solo or group performance.
When discussing the film in July, Arshad Warsi shared, “The scale of Welcome 3: the cost, the climax, is unreal. It is an insanely larger-than-life theatrical film which I will be a part of. It has me, Akshay Kumar, Sanju (Sanjay Dutt), Paresh Rawal and lots of other people.”
The promo also confirms the film's release date - December 20, 2024 - and announces Ahmed Khan as director.
