Akshay Kumar starrer spy thriller ‘Bell Bottom’, said to be the first Bollywood film to start and finish shooting during the pandemic, is now scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 27 following a delay due to a second wave of Covid-19.
Akshay posted a video on his Instagram recently to announce the news.
Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, ‘Bell Bottom’ also stars Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi.
‘Bell Bottom’ is the first Bollywood film to be released in cinemas after the lockdown imposed to contain coronavirus second wave in India, according to NDTV.
“I know you have patiently waited for the release of ‘BellBottom’. Could not be happier to finally announce the release of our film. Arriving on the big screens worldwide. Bellbottom on 27 July,” Akshay wrote on his Instagram wall.
Lara Dutta wrote: "#Bellbottom was always meant to be for the big screens. Making a grand entrance into the cinemas worldwide" while Vaani Kapoor captioned her post with these words: "THE WAIT IS OVER! #Bellbottom arriving on the big screens worldwide."
‘Bell Bottom’ is co-produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani.
Apart from ‘Bell Bottom’, Akshay has a flurry of projects in his pockets including ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Prithviraj’ and ‘Mission Lion’.
