Renowned Bollywood actor, Amitabh Bachchan, 81, underwent an angioplasty procedure at Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital early Friday morning.

Admitted to the hospital in the early hours, Bachchan's health condition prompted medical intervention, confirmed by doctors at Kokilaben Hospital.

In an official statement, medical authorities disclosed Bachchan's angioplasty, with further details expected to be released by his public relations team later today.

Bachchan, known for his prolific acting career spanning decades, recently provided an update on his condition via his blog, expressing gratitude for the support and affection of his fans. He wrote, "Ever in gratitude for all your prayers and love... Ever in gratitude for the grace of your affection... Ever in gratitude for your continuity... Love and more later."

Earlier this week, Bachchan had been actively engaged in filming for his upcoming project, Nag Ashwin’s 'Kalki 2898 AD'. Despite his commitment to work, his health concerns have arisen, necessitating medical attention.

This incident echoes a previous setback in Bachchan's career when he suffered an injury on the sets of 'Kalki 2898 AD' in March 2023. At that time, he endured an injury to the rib cartilage and a muscle tear, underscoring the challenges faced by actors in the rigorous film industry.
