Ananya Panday, who made her Bollywood debut with Student of the Year 2, recently attended the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah.
Speaking to Deadline, Ananya Panday said that Karan Johar’s iconic films Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai influenced her to become an actor. She said, “It was that big Bollywood film that you know, I grew up recreating and dancing to and singing all the songs and I think he inspired me to be an actress.”
When Ananya was asked which directors she wanted to work with next, she said, “There’s an Indian filmmaker called Sanjay Leela Bhansali, I would love to work with him. If I could choose someone globally, I would say… Tarantino. I heard he’s making like his last film and I am like I need to be in that 10th film of his somehow.”
Ananya was last seen in Dream Girl 2 alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, and her upcoming project is Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan, co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav. Directed by Arjun Varain Singh, the film is scheduled for release on December 26, 2023, and will be available on Netflix.
Described as a cinematic celebration of friendship in the digital age, the movie follows the journey of three friends in their mid-20s navigating life in the world of social media.
