Popular actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba is embroiled in a legal dispute with production company Alpha-i, who have accused him of illegal contract breach.

According to Alpha-i's managing director, Shahriar Karim Bhuiyan, Apurba signed a contract worth 50 lakh taka to act in 24 dramas for the company. He received an initial advance payment of 25 lakh taka, with additional payments of 8 lakh taka made throughout the project. The agreement stipulated that Apurba would dedicate three days per month for filming.

However, after completing only nine dramas, Apurba allegedly began delaying the shooting schedule.  Bhuiyan claims that Apurba failed to show up for a scheduled shoot from February 19th to 23rd and cut off all communication with the company.

"A legal notice was sent to Apurba on March 3, requesting a response within seven days," Bhuiyan stated. "Since the actor did not respond and was unreachable, Alpha-i sent a letter to the Television & Digital Program Producers' Association of Bangladesh (Telepab) and Actors Equity Bangladesh seeking a proper judgment on the matter."

Apurba responded through a separate letter to the same organisations, denying any wrongdoing. "The issue has been taken to court, and it wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment further," Apurba said. "My lawyer is handling the situation and will take necessary legal actions. Both parties will be informed about the entire matter within the next couple of days."

Ahsan Habib Nasim, president of Actors' Equity Bangladesh, confirmed that both parties will meet to discuss the situation. "We aim to resolve the issue through a proper discussion," Nasim stated.

Meanwhile, reports suggest a divide within the Bangladeshi showbiz community. Actors like Shihab Shaheen and Chayanika Chowdhury have voiced their support for Apurba, claiming the accusations are a conspiracy against the actor.
