Renowned Bangladeshi actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba has embarked on a new cinematic journey with the film "Chaalchitro". This thrilling household crime thriller is being directed by Pratim Gupta.
The shooting for the film commenced in Kolkata on Wednesday. The cast includes eminent actors such as Priya Banerjee, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Shantilal Mukherjee, Raima Sen, and Swastika Dutta, among others.
For the first time in the Kolkata film industry, Apurba is stepping into acting, and he expresses his excitement about the project. He commends the captivating storyline and the proficient work of the producer-director duo, which further fuels his enthusiasm.
Actress Priya Banerjee is also all set to make her Bengali film debut with this film. Expressing her excitement about her Bengali film debut, the actress stated, “It is an extremely special feeling as I’m working for the first time in my mother tongue. I guess it’s more exciting as I’m pretty sure my extensive family that lives in Kolkata, who are mainly Bengali speaking, will definitely watch it. My parents are definitely very proud and happy that I’m doing a Bengali film.”
Although details about the characters remain undisclosed, director Pratim revealed that Apurba will be seen in the role of a police officer. He will portray an officer leading a team from the Detective Branch of Kolkata Police, tasked with investigating a series of murders.
Throughout the investigation, the audience will witness a case from over a decade ago. As the professional and personal lives of four police officers interweave, "Chaalchitro" promises to be a tale rife with intensity and suspense.
The film is being produced under the banner of the production house "Friends Communication," known for their previous work in the acclaimed film "Hubba."
