Arshad Adnan, a man of theatre and cinema, has been a catalyst in producing and sponsoring various projects. For more than a decade, he has been associated with his own necessity-driven endeavor called 'Versatile Media.'
A few years ago, he set a record by producing 12 plays with 12 directors in Cox's Bazar. During that time, he orchestrated the travel of around 50 artists via a single flight from Dhaka to Cox's Bazar.
Adnan also acted in a television drama titled "Premer Pandulipi" directed by Mehedi Hasan Sumon. Rumana was his co-star in the drama. Before his journey in the media industry, he worked in a private bank as Assistant Vice President.
However Adnan's contributions go beyond theatre; he has sponsored films like "Sultana Bibiana" and "U Turn". His recent venture, "Priyotoma", has marked another significant milestone in the Bangladeshi film industry.
Released during the Eid-ul-Adha festivities, "Priyotoma", directed by Himel Ashraf and starring Shakib Khan and Idhika Paul, has garnered attention both domestically and internationally since its first day of release. The film's success has surpassed that of many recent successful movies, making significant strides in the business realm. "Priyotoma" has not only earned its production costs but has also generated a substantial profit, creating a buzz in both local and international markets. The film continues to be screened across various countries, indicating sustained audience interest.
In the recent past, amidst its success, "Priyotoma" faced various challenges before its release. Arshad Adnan's tenacity and adherence to proper procedures ensured the film's eventual clearance by the censor board. Facing potential obstacles, he resolved numerous issues, including a deceptive petition letter, and presented detailed work permits and documentation to the relevant authorities.
