BABISAS to honours three icons with Lifetime Achievement Awards

Three eminent figures will be honoured with the prestigious 'Lifetime Achievement Awards' in an upcoming ceremony organised by the "Bangladesh Binodon Shangbadik Somiti (BABISAS).

This distinguished trio comprises of Dolly Johur, a prominent actress in Bangladesh's theater and film industry, Chanchal Mahmud, a trailblazing figure in the field of photography, and Munmun Ahmed, a revered figure in the realm of acting and dance.

The event is scheduled to take place tomorrow evening at the Khamarbari Krishibid Milonayaton in the capital city, under the patronage of State Minister for Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Dr. Enamur Rahman.

Abul Hossain Mojumder, the President of BABISAS, and Mohammad Shamsul Huda the General Editor confirmed the news. Journalist Ovi Moinuddin said that three luminaries were chosen for their outstanding achievements, as they had not previously received the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' from BABISAS.

Sharing her sentiments on the occasion, Dolly Jahur remarked, "Receiving the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' holds immense significance for me. This is a gesture of profound honour, especially in such a grand gathering. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to BABISAS and everyone associated with it."

Munmun Ahmed also expressed her gratitude, stating, "The recognition of the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' is indeed a momentous occasion. It has been an incredibly fulfilling experience for me. I am unaware of the extent of my contribution to our cultural heritage, but this honour brings me immense joy. I seek everyone's prayers."

Chanchal Mahmud, reflecting on his journey, mentioned, "Previously, I have received accolades for my exemplary work in photography from various organizations in the country and abroad. However, this is the first time I will be receiving such a prominent award in our country. I am especially thankful to journalist Ovi Moinuddin for bestowing me with this great honour. Through my love for photography, I have traversed a significant part of my life."

Chanchal Mahmud also spoke about the importance of acknowledging the roles played by luminaries in various sectors of the country and urged a change in the mindset that tends to forget the contributions of these stars. He emphasized that without a sense of humanity and gratitude, we may not truly be recognizing the genuine stars among us.
