Bangabandhu’s biopic 'Mujib: The making of a Nation’ gets censor certificate

The movie “Mujib: The making of a Nation” based on the biography of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman got uncut censored on Monday. According to a press release, Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB) members issued the certificate after watching a screening of the film on Monday.

It is co-produced by India’s National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC).The shooting of this biopic, made at the expense of 60% of Bangladesh and 40% of India and started on January 22.

The first poster of the film was released on March 17, 2022 on Bangabandhu's birthday, the second poster on May 3 and the trailer was unveiled in the Marché du Film Commercial Branch at the Indian pavilion of the 75th Cannes Film Festival on May 19.

 

This information is known from the Film Censor Board under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The information ministry said that the movie is under censor process in India as well.

The movie is directed by Shyam Benegal from India and supervised by Asaduzzaman Noor from an English screenplay by Atul Tiwari and Shama Jayedi.

Alongside Arifin Shuvoo as Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the movie also stars Nusrat Imrose Tisha as Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib; Nusraat Faria Mazhar as Sheikh Hasina; Riaz Ahmed as Tajuddin Ahmed, and Elina Shammi as Begum Khaleda Zia, Chanchal Chowdhury, Dilara Zaman, Siam Ahmed, Zayed Khan, Khairul Alam Sabuj, Ferdous Ahmed, Sarantha Fardin Dighi, Raisul Islam Asad, Gazi Rakayet, Tauqeer Ahmed, Misha Saudagar have acted in it along others.
