Batighar to stage two shows of ‘Bhogoban Paliye Gechhe’ at BSA

Theatre troupe Batighar will stage the two shows of its 16th production “Bhogoban Paliye Gechhe” at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Segun Bagicha in the capital.

The 8th show of the play will be staged on Sunday, while the 9th show will be held on Monday at the same venue. The play has been written and directed by the troupe’s founder and president Sanjoy Sarker Muktonil.

The word Bhogoban was used metaphorically in the play. According to the director, “God has no form, but He has will. That is, from a religious point of view, the matter can be explained in this way, there is a being inside you, which you cannot see. But he's constantly watching you — you're eating, talking, walking, etc. While doing all this you surely feel that there is an “I” living deep within you. Your outward behaviour may have conflicting egos with many things. You may have said something stupid out of anger, but your inner self doesn't want you to say it. You may later regret this behaviour. I (the writer) call that highly sensitive human entity inside who watches you every moment as God. He who does not see with his eyes, but sees with his conscience. The voice of conscience is the voice of God. ‘Bhogoban Paliye Geche’ is not literally God fleeing. It is the escape of myself, which we all are losing day by day. Our being, consideration, humanity, and above all our conscience.

The probable cast of the play includes Saddam Rahman, Foisal Mahmud, Sanju Goswami, Nusrat Imam Bulty, Yasir Arafat, Sweety Hore, Sumon Shoron, Mridha Ayomee, Ahsanullah Riaz, Raju Ahmed, Fiona Ferdowsi, Rudro Rokon, Sanjay Halder, Yasin Haider Fahim and Shadab Hashmi
