Batman, the iconic Caped Crusader from DC Comics, will be the first-ever superhero to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The ceremony will take place on September 26 at 6764 Hollywood Boulevard, right in front of The Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum. This fitting location reflects the additional honour Batman will receive - the Guinness World Record for "First Superhero with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."

Batman, who recently celebrated his 85th anniversary, was created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger and first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in 1939. Since then, he's become a global phenomenon, inspiring countless fans and generating a film franchise that has grossed over $6.8 billion worldwide.

"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honour our first superhero on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!" said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame.

"Fans from around the world will be thrilled to know that Batman will have his star dedicated next to the stars of television's Batman, Adam West, and the co-creator of Batman, Bob Kane."

While Batman may be the first superhero to receive a star, he won't be the first fictional character. Other beloved icons like Bugs Bunny, Kermit the Frog, and Mickey Mouse already have their place on the Walk.

The ceremony is just one part of a day-long celebration planned for September 26th. Funko Hollywood will host a special fan event with DC Comics president, publisher, and chief creative officer Jim Lee.

The event will include an exclusive one-hour meet-and-greet and signing session for the first 100 fans who purchase a Batman product at Funko Hollywood on September 24th.

In addition, Warner Bros. Archives will be showcasing a curated pop-up museum at Funko Hollywood, featuring costumes and props from Batman's rich history in film and television. "Authentic props, iconic costumes—and some surprises—will allow audiences a rare chance to enjoy pieces of Batman cinematic history up close and in person," teased the press release.

This star ceremony and fan event solidify Batman's place not only as a pop culture icon, but also as a major force in the film industry.
