Babita said, “There was a time when talented filmmakers of our country used to make very good movies. Before the independence of the country, the good films of those talented filmmakers did not get a place in international festivals. After the independence of the country, we got the opportunity to screen our films at international festivals. Once I got an opportunity to act in Satyajit Ray's film ‘Ashani Sanket’. The film was widely appreciated worldwide. I represented the film internationally.
I have established myself as a Bangladeshi girl in the international film industry with the flag of Bangladesh, I have known myself. I informed everyone that I am a Bangladeshi girl. Today, this Bengali Film Festival of Dallas is going to be held around me only and, the Honorable Mayor will hand over the honour to me. This honour is not only mine, this honour, but this achievement also belongs to my country, my family.”
