Bidya Sinha Mim, a name synonymous with Bangladeshi acting, has come a long way since her Lux-Channel I Superstar win in 2007. Captivating audiences with her debut in Humayun Ahmed's "Amar Ache Jol," Mim has excelled in both dramas and films.
Her dedication to her craft shines through her filmography. Mim's powerful performance in the late Khalid Mahmud Mithu's "Jonakir Alo" earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress. More recently, she garnered widespread acclaim for her portrayal of the central character in Raihan Rafi's "Poran" (2022). Her talent was further recognised with praise for her performance in "Damal," solidifying her reputation as a versatile actress.
Mim's success continues. The upcoming Bangladesh Film Directors Association (BFDA) Awards ceremony on May 11 might see her take home the Best Actress award.
Beyond the awards buzz, Mim is also celebrating another milestone. Today, a special event is being held at a five-star hotel in Dhaka to commemorate Lux's centenary. Mim, a Lux Superstar herself, will be gracing the occasion and even performing. Notably, she has also been a model for several Lux advertisements.
While at the event, Mim reflected on her journey. "Lux has played a significant role in my life. My life took a new turn when I became the Lux-Channel i Superstar. It's another kind of satisfaction to be present at the centenary celebration of Lux today,” she said.
Mim, ever the dedicated artist, further emphasised, "Acting is my passion. I pour my heart into every role, regardless of potential awards. In 'Digante Fuler Agun,' I strived to deliver a performance that resonated with the audience."
