Billie Eilish has officially claimed the top spot as Spotify's most-streamed artist, surpassing The Weeknd to become the No. 1 artist with the highest monthly listeners as of June 2024, according to a Monday announcement by the streaming giant.

The seven-time Grammy winner reached the milestone with over 100 million monthly listeners, making her the third—and youngest—artist to achieve this feat, following in the footsteps of Taylor Swift and The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye).

Eilish celebrated the achievement by sharing her excitement and gratitude with her fans on Instagram. "Number 1 in the world on Spotify, I really can’t even believe this. I love you all so much; this is the craziest thing ever,” she wrote.

The Weeknd, who previously held the top spot, showed his support for Eilish as she closed in on his record. Earlier this month, he shared a post from an Eilish fan account on X (formerly known as Twitter), which highlighted her progress. “Billie Eilish is now less than 1 million listeners away from becoming the #1 artist with most monthly listeners on Spotify,” the post read, to which The Weeknd responded, “Let’s go!”

Eilish's latest success follows the release of her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, in April. The album, featuring 10 tracks, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

In addition to her record-breaking monthly listeners, Eilish has solidified her place in Spotify's Billions Club, with eight of her songs surpassing one billion streams. These tracks include "Lovely" with Khalid, "Bad Guy," "When the Party’s Over," "Everything I Wanted," "Ocean Eyes," "Happier Than Ever," "Idontwannabeyouanymore," and "Bury a Friend."
