In a recent announcement, YG Entertainment has officially confirmed that the individual contracts for solo activities of BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa will not be renewed.

The agency expressed their support for the members' future endeavors outside of the group, stating that they will "cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts."

The decision comes after BLACKPINK recently renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment for group activities. In a statement, YG Entertainment shared, "BLACKPINK recently renewed their contracts with YG for their group activities, and we have agreed not to proceed with additional contracts for [the members’] individual activities. We will do our utmost to support BLACKPINK’s activities, and we will cheer on the members’ individual activities with warm hearts."

Addressing earlier rumors, YG Entertainment had clarified in December that all four members would continue their group activities with the agency.

Yang Hyun Suk, the executive producer of YG Entertainment, expressed happiness in continuing the relationship with BLACKPINK, stating, "BLACKPINK will continue to do their best to shine even brighter in the global music market as artists representing not only our agency but also K-pop, and we send our unwavering support and faith for their future steps."

BLACKPINK, a powerhouse K-pop group, debuted in 2016 and has achieved global success with hit songs such as "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" (2018), "Kill This Love" (2019), and "How You Like That" (2020). Their Born Pink World Tour (2022–23) recently became the highest-grossing concert tour by a female group.
