The popular Chinese science fiction series "Three-Body" has arrived on Bangladesh's leading OTT platform Bongo. The fully Bengali dubbed series premiered on Saturday.

This release marks a unique offering, as it's not the Netflix adaptation, but the Bengali dubbed version of the original Chinese series based on acclaimed Chinese novelist Liu Cixin's renowned science fiction novel series.

Following this 2023 Chinese adaptation from the Chinese streaming service Tencent, a Netflix version named “3 Body Problem” — created by David Benioff, DB Weiss and Alexander Woo and released in March 2024 — also garnered significant global attention.

The arrival of Tencent’s "Three-Body" on Bongo has sparked excitement on social media. Noted writer and blogger Abdullah Ibn Mahmud expressed his enthusiasm, praising the availability in his native language.

The series centres on a captivating mystery: the suicides of several brilliant scientists. A scientist and a detective delve into the case, uncovering a strange virtual reality game and a shocking truth.

Bongo's Chief Content Officer Mushfiqur Rahman Manzu highlighted the significance of bringing this acclaimed sci-fi series to Bengali audiences.

New episodes will be released every Saturday and Sunday, marking a significant step in making global content accessible to Bengali speakers.
