Throughout the month of August, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) is organiaing a comprehensive event series titled "Strength Emerges from Grief: Vow to Realise Dreams," paying tribute to the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The series commenced on August 1 at the National Art Gallery-1 and the National Art Gallery-2 of the Shilpakala Academy, and it will continue until August 31, featuring a diverse array of artistic and cultural activities.
A prominent highlight of the event series is a special exhibition showcasing artworks and photographs dedicated to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This exhibition will not only celebrate the artistic brilliance but also shed light on the inspiring life of Bangladesh's founding leader.
On August 5, an event titled "Tribute Through Art" will be held at the National Music and Dance Center, commemorating the memory of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal.
The following day, August 6, a session titled "Tagore and Bangabandhu: Homage Through Art" will be hosted at the National Music and Dance Center.
A remarkable film screening dedicated to Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib, titled "Bangamata," will take place on August 7.
On August 15, the National Mourning Day will be observed with discussions and literary readings from books on Bangabandhu at the National Theatre. Floral tributes will also be offered at the portrait of Bangabandhu on Dhanmondi Road 32, honouring his memory.
To encourage youth participation and creativity, an art camp involving prominent artists from various fields will be held at the National Art Gallery on August 18.
Concluding the month-long event series, a special programme titled "A Tribute to National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam and Bangabandhu" will be held at the National Music and Dance Center on August 29.
The closing ceremony of this event series will take place on August 31 at the National Music and Dance Center of BSA, bringing together artists, performers, and attendees to honour the enduring legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
