Despite BTS's current hiatus, RM's solo success continues with NASA featuring his song on the Moon Tunes Playlist for their 2024 lunar mission.

In a ground-breaking move, NASA has chosen three songs from K-pop sensation BTS, including RM's solo track "Moonchild," for their upcoming moon mission playlist. The US space agency is gearing up for its 2024 lunar voyage to mark the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, curating a special playlist called the Moon Tunes.

RM, also known as Kim Nam-joon, at 29 years old, has become the only K-pop solo artist to have a song featured in space, solidifying his success in the music industry and breaking cultural norms, according to Hindustan Times.

Alongside "Moonchild," NASA has selected two other space-themed BTS tracks, "Mikrokosmos" and "134340," for the celestial playlist.

Despite some BTS members being on hiatus due to mandatory military enlistment, the group continues to break records and capture global attention. Fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages after the news of RM's historic achievement went viral.

One fan expressed pride: "A song from an unprompted mix tape really did that! I'm so proud of him." Another fan eagerly shared, "Mikrokosmos deserves it so much! (All the songs deserve it. But Mikrokosmos is so precious to my heart) I can't wait."

The collaboration with NASA further emphasises K-pop's international impact and recognition in the global music scene.
