Bangladeshi artistes and humanitarian activists have come together under the platform Artists Against Genocide to protest the ongoing genocide in Gaza. This fundraising concert titled "To Gaza From Dhaka" was held at the Hatirjheel Amphitheater on Friday.

Bangladeshi musicians, driven by compassion and a sense of responsibility, are using their artistic talents to support a humanitarian cause — this time for the suffering people of Gaza. They have raised Tk10 lakh through this concert for the children of Gaza. The selection of NGOs such as the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, Red Crescent, or UNRWA USA as channels for aid showcases a commitment to reaching those most in need.

A Palestinian mother is standing with a dead child in her arms! The impression of fear and cries in her eyes! This is how popular actress Zakia Bari Mamo appeared on the stage of the 'To Gaza from Dhaka' concert held at Hatirjheel Amphitheater in the capital on Friday.

Regarding appearing in the role of a Palestinian mother at the concert Mamo said, “It's a protest against war. Protest against genocide, and femicide. We don't want war. A child who dies after birth does not know why he is dying. The child does not have the opportunity to live a beautiful life! We saw that in the Palestine war. Our protest against this genocide. We want peace.”

"To Gaza, From Dhaka" features a stellar lineup of artists, including Maqsood O' Dhaka, Ark, Nemesis, Meghdol, Karnival, Shohojia, Indalo, Bangla Five, Highway, Ahmed Hasan Sunny, Hatirpool Sessions, Black Zang, Masha Islam, Aseer Arman, Muiz Mahfuz, Avishek Bhattacharjee, Firoze Jong, Moruvumi, The Moon Flower Project, and others.

According to Artists Against Genocide, the concert serves as a symbolic open letter to Gaza expressing condemnation of the ongoing shelling and bombing in the region. Furthermore, the platform aims to voice their opposition against the longstanding oppression of the Palestinian state during this concert.

Bangladeshi artistes aim to convey a message of solidarity to the people of Gaza, assuring them that they are not alone in this conflict. The funds generated from the concert, in addition to ticket sales, will be directed to Gaza, and everyone is encouraged to contribute by making donations.

All donations will be funneled through international humanitarian organisations, such as the Red Crescent and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund - both actively engaged in assisting Gaza.
