The court has postponed hearing in the drug case filed against actress Pori Moni at Banani Police Station. The new hearing date has been set for August 14.

The case was scheduled for hearing on Sunday, in the Dhaka Special Judge Court-10, presided over by Judge Mohammad Nazrul Islam. However, Pori Moni's lawyer informed the court that the appeal division had concluded the hearing on the stay order. The lawyer requested a postponement of the testimony until a certified copy of the stay order was obtained.

The court granted the request and set the next hearing date for August 14.

Pori Moni's lawyer was present on her behalf. The actress's manager Ashraful Islam Dipu and uncle Kabir Howlader were also present in the court.

Earlier on January 9 last year, a three-member bench of the Appellate Division led by Senior Justice Md Nuruzzaman ordered a six-month stay on the proceedings of Pori Moni's drug case.

It is worth mentioning that on August 4, 2021 in the afternoon, RAB conducted a raid on Pori Moni's residence at Banani. A large quantity of drugs was seized from the house at that time. Later, she was arrested and remanded several times. Pori Moni was granted bail on August 31 and was released the next day.
