As an acoustic and lead guitarist, Sakil Mohammad Dipon is famous in the country's music industry. This time he served as the Chief Judge of the Jury Board of the annual assessment of the country's traditional institution Bulbul Lalitakala Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA).
He has completed his evaluation at the Mirpur-2 branch of Bulbul Lalitakala Academy of Fine Arts recently. More than 100 guitarists participate in this annual assessment.
After completing his work well, the Principal of the Academy, musician Mangal Chandra Mandal, presented a certificate and award to Chief Judge Sakil Mohammad Dipan.
Dipon is one such guitarist who was bestowed with a special award a few days ago on the occasion of 33 years of BTV’s popular programme “Amra Kuri”.
Sakil Mohammad Dipan said, “Bulbul Lalitkala Academy of Fine Arts is a traditional cultural institution of the country. It is a great honor and pride to serve as the chief judge of the annual assessment of such an institution. I really cannot express this feeling in words. In my artistic life, this will be in my mind forever with utmost respect. I tried to accomplish my duty properly. I am thankful to Principal Mangal Chandra Mandal Sir. Heartfelt love to those who inspired me regularly.”
After completing his Hons-Masters in Management from Jagannath University, Dipon completed his CA under M. Hafiz & Company. Despite being brilliant in his studies, Dipon established himself as a guitarist. In 2000, he started playing the guitar professionally. However, in 1996, he was listed as a special-class instrumentalist of Bangladesh Television.
