An Elden Ring player has managed to beat the game in perhaps the most improbable way imaginable. Elden Ring has been out for a year, and some gamers have completed it in unique and interesting ways.

There have been instances of players using different items, such as a dance pad, as input devices in the past, with another player managing to beat Elden Ring without walking.

The same has been true for the Dark Souls series and some other titles of the soulslike genre, as players have finished games in this franchise with unique rules and challenges.

As an example, one gamer managed to beat Dark Souls 3 using a one-button Morse code controller, and users can find other similarly impressive instances online. Now, an Elden Ring fan has completed the game in one of the most improbable ways one can think of.

A Twitch streamer named Pennek has finished Elden Ring with a blindfold, claiming it to be the world’s first blindfold speedrun of the title, reports GameRant.

The video shared on Reddit features the final boss of Elden Ring, as Pennek defeats the Elden Beast in mere seconds. One of the comments aims to offer a deeper explanation of the method used, claiming that a glitch was used in this blindfold speedrun.

According to the post, this glitch tricks Elden Ring into thinking that players are using the Ghiza's Wheel Colossal Weapon in Elden Ring with the attributes of another weapon.

As seen in the video, Pennek used the Serpent-Hunter spear, a unique weapon with massive hitboxes acquired when fighting Rykard, to defeat the final boss of the game.

Despite the trick, it’s still an unbelievably impressive achievement to finish Elden Ring blindfolded in just over two hours.

Players can see a timeline of sorts on the right with details on the items collected and bosses defeated in the speedrun, along with the level at which the player fought these enemies.

The speedrun took just over two hours to complete, but this total is far from the shockingly low speedrun times of Elden Ring. As an example, one player managed to finish Elden Ring in under nine minutes a few months after its launch, and the world record is likely even lower than that. While it’s an impressive achievement, fans should note this speedrun involves using glitches to bypass several major chunks and boss fights of Elden Ring.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
