On August 5, Sheikh Hasina stepped down from power and left the country. From that moment almost every day, new allegations surfaced against various leaders and activists. This time, TV presenter and actress Elina Shammi has raised accusations against a director.

On Wednesday, the actress posted from her verified Facebook account, labelling the director as a sycophant and opportunist, warning others to be cautious of him. However, Elina did not reveal the director's name in that time.

In her status, Elina Shammi wrote, "A sycophantic director who survived by flattery, bootlicking and opportunism during the previous government's tenure. He made artists work for him but never paid their wages. Except for a few lead roles, no one else could ever get their rightful compensation from him."

"He has always been full of empty talk and is committed to exaggerating. Now once again, he's seizing opportunities and resuming his flattery and bootlicking. Every day, he posts moral statements with ease. He has no sense of shame. He’s an immoral, deceitful, scheming person who doesn't give artists the respect they deserve or pay them their dues. Seeing such moral preaching on his wall really makes me boil with anger."

In her final message to the director, she wrote, "What good will changing your face do? No one has ever gotten away with wrongdoing by changing their face, and neither will you. So, stop this nonsense. If you can, reform yourself, or else stay quiet. People know who you are, and these moral posts are only making you a laughingstock."

Speculation quickly grew that Shammi was referring to director Annono Mamun, especially after he responded on social media, saying, "An incompetent actor who didn't make it into my film is now conspiring against me. Is it that painful not to see your face in the teaser?"

This fuelled rumours, particularly since Shammi had acted in Mamun's upcoming film "Dorod", though she was absent from its promotional teaser.

According to The Daily Star, Shammi confirmed that her accusations were directed at Mamun. She revealed, "I shot for 19 days in India for 'Dorod', and Mamun only paid me Tk 16,000. Whenever I asked for the rest, he made excuses about financial crises. I didn't receive any payment for his film 'Radio', and I still haven't been fully compensated for 'Kosai', which was released a few years ago."

Shammi explained that she had remained silent to protect the release of "Dorod" and because she considered Mamun "like a brother."

She added, "He took advantage of that trust and denied me my rightful payment. Now he's calling me an incompetent actor because I'm not in the teaser. Yes, I'm hurt. I played significant roles in his films; not minor ones that could be easily overlooked."
