Shabnam Ferdousi's film "Ajob Karkhana" has been released in five theatres across the country since Friday. The film stars model-actress Shabnaz Sadia Emi and popular Bengali actor Parambrata Chatterjee.
The story of "Ajob Karkhana" revolves around the life of a rock star who in search of a new meaning for his life, comes into contact with Baul singers in rural Bengal. Through the Baul singers, the film showcases various genres, styles, and philosophies of Bengali folk music. It also brings to light the struggles of an artist's life.
Emi spoke about her experience with the media. She said, "I would like to thank Shabnam Ferdousi Apa and Samia Apa for giving me this opportunity. I have tried my best to give my full effort in the film. It is a film that has added a new chapter even to the career of Kolkata superstar Parambrata."
Talking about working with Parambrata, Emi said, "I was very nervous at first. It takes a lot of courage to work with such a big actor. Now I'm not nervous, I'm excited. It's really a different feeling to sit in the same row with everyone and watch the movie."
About the film, she said, "Everyone should watch it because such films don't come often. It's a film that soothes the mind. Everyone, whether associated with music or not, will enjoy it. You will discover many unknown facts in this film."
Emi, Bangladesh's top ramp model, made her debut on the big screen through this film. Besides her, talented actress Dilruba Doyel has played an important role. Several talented singers of Bengali folk music will also be seen.
Guest stars include Fahmida Nabi and Asif Iqbal. The film, produced by Samia Zaman, received a government grant of Tk 50 lakh in the 2016-17 fiscal years. The film has participated in 15 international film festivals and won five awards.
