Actress Hunter Schafer, known for her roles in "Euphoria" was arrested on Monday while protesting with Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) in New York City.

The 25-year-old called for a ceasefire in Gaza as she participated in the demonstration alongside the Jewish-led, self-described "anti-Zionist" organisation. The protest, aimed at disrupting President Joe Biden's appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," took place at NBC headquarters in Rockefeller Centre.

"Hunter was arrested at the protest, along with 50 other people," a JVP spokesperson confirmed to Vulture. "We commend her commitment to Palestinian freedom and a future of justice for everyone."

Photos and videos shared on social media show Schafer wearing a t-shirt demanding a ceasefire and chanting with protesters: "No more weapons, no more war, ceasefire's what we're fighting for." They also chanted: "Joe Biden, we know you are here. You are not welcome in our city."

The group criticised Biden's foreign policy and urged his administration to reconsider its stance and push for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

A banner held by Schafer and other protesters read: "Jews to Biden – stop arming genocide."

JVP describes itself on its website as "the largest progressive Jewish anti-Zionist organisation in the world." The group states its mission as "organising a grassroots, multiracial, cross-class, intergenerational movement of US Jews into solidarity with the Palestinian freedom struggle, guided by a vision of justice, equality, and dignity for all people."
