Tasnia Farin, who was supposed to play a lead role opposite Dev in the upcoming Kolkata film "Pratiksha" directed by Abhijit Sen, has decided to pull out from the project. The filming schedule, originally planned for early November in Kolkata and the UK, has been delayed, prompting Farin to make this decision.
Explaining her withdrawal, Farin stated, "Due to various uncertainties regarding my visa and schedules, I've made the decision to step back from the project. After discussions with producer Atanu Roy Chowdhury, it became clear that the film might not proceed for me at this time."
The primary concern revolves around visa complications linked to the political situation in Bangladesh, which could disrupt the filming schedule. Farin noted, "If we are unable to start filming in November, we risk losing the availability of Dev and Mithun Chakraborty. However, obtaining visas on time is also uncertain."
Farin expressed relief regarding her decision, as she had reservations about the film's pre-production work in September. The uncertainty surrounding the visa process also hindered her from taking on new projects in both Kolkata and Bangladesh. She added, "At least now, I am free from that worry."
Following her departure from "Pratiksha", Farin swiftly secured a new OTT project, describing it as a "big-budget project."
Despite missing the opportunity to work with stars like Dev and Mithun Chakraborty, she remains optimistic, saying, "It would have definitely impacted my career, but I have previously worked in Kolkata, and there's always the potential for larger projects in the future."
Last year, Farin also opted out of another Kolkata film, "Patri Chai", reflecting another episode of project cancellations in her career. Nonetheless, she considers these situations as coincidental.
