‘Fashion Design Crash Course with Bibi Russell’ held in Dhaka

A two-day first women's fashion design training and exhibition titled “Fashion Design Crash Course with Bibi Russell” led by renowned fashion icon and model Bibi Russell was held in the capital.

The training titled 'Fashion Design Crash Course with Bibi Russell', which started on March 12, is under the overall supervision of Women in Digital. After this training, there was a product exhibition programme for 20 new fashion designers participating in BB Productions at Motijheel Rahman Chamber in the capital on June 7 and 8.

Organisers say that through this training event, 20 new fashion designers have taken the uses of local fabrics to new statures. The growing fashion designer has learned how to internationalize native products, and how simplicity can do better products. They have created new designs by mixing Western fashion with fabrics such as Gamcha, Jamdani, Tangail, Manipuri, and others.

Bibi Russell has taken initiative to help the trainee entrepreneurs from product selection to product quality checks and solving any problems.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Parliament Member Nadia Binte Amin. Besides, the Editor of Bhorer Kagoj Shyamal Dutta, Ramganj Municipal Mayor Abul Khair Patwary, and others were present.

The participating new fashion designers are-- Tania Wahab, Farhana Munmun, Mahjabin Rahim Moitry, Jannatul Ferdous Hira, Farah Siraj, Rehmuma Hossain, Rahnuma Sultana, Shaheen Akhtar Kona, Mahmuda Rahman, Mashuda Haque Ifa, Evlee Chakma, Nasima Akhtar, Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Shaheen Shanil, Alka Rani Koch, Maqsuda Parveen Eva, Tawhida Akhter Sangeetha, Farhana Alam, and Raisa Monija Akter.
